3 Tips For Getting The Most Out Of Your Invisalign Braces

Invisalign braces are an excellent option if you want to straighten your teeth, but don't want the look and feel of traditional braces. Invisalign braces can be very effective at moving your teeth into place, just as long as your use them correctly. Here are some tips for getting the most out of your Invisalign services

Wear Your Aligners All The Time

While it may be tempting to take your Invisalign aligners out from time to time in order to give your mouth and your teeth a break, this isn't a good idea. It is the consistency of wearing your aligners that allows your teeth to move at a steady rate. If you take your aligners out, this stops progress, and if you were to keep them out long enough, your teeth could even revert to where they were before you got Invisalign braces. You can of course take your aligners out when you are brushing and flossing your teeth twice each day and when you are eating, but these should be the only times.

Use Your Attachments

Some people using Invisalign braces are required to use attachments. It is so important that you wear these attachments and use them properly. The attachments are generally ridges or dots added to your teeth that your aligners attach onto. It is important that you make it into your orthodontist at your regularly scheduled appointments to have these attachments added onto your teeth. These are what allow your teeth to move at a more rapid rate, which is the goal of most people who are wearing braces. Also, if one of the attachments happen to pop off, be sure to call your orthodontist right away.

Stick To The Schedule

You will be given multiple trays that you will progress to as time goes on. It is very important that you stick to the schedule and switch out your Invisalign aligners exactly when you are supposed to. If you wait too long, this can hinder your progress. However, if you were to move ahead too quickly, then your next aligners wouldn't fit properly over your teeth and would likely be somewhat painful for you.

Invisalign braces are great form of braces, just as long as you wear them all of the time, you use your attachments properly, and you stick to the schedule in terms of switching out your aligners at the appropriate times.
